I had to make Hanjie's comet from Oct 13 an x-comet, as I only saw it in two frames. I need to check the CCOR-1 data to see if maybe it shows up there. If so, I will "promote" it to a regular SOHO comet again. We're still working on the calibrations for CCOR-1; right now the FITS headers are not quite good enough for me to get the quality of astrometry we need. So I am not looking into CCOR-1 comets until we have that worked out. It certainly does *see* the C3 comets very clearly, but doesn't have a clear view as close to the Sun as C2, so objects like this might not show up. We'll see...

Regarding SOHO-5121, calling it a 'comet' is somewhat generous, but I decided to include it because of the unique series of events leading up to S1/ATLAS' appearance. In reality, SOHO-5121 is nothing more than a debris trail that represents a fragment that was proposed from ground observations. So again, in that regard, it is perhaps not appropriate for me to give it a designation. But since there were never any formally announced fragments for S1, I will plant our flag in it! :) I should also note that again, CCOR-1 not only saw this 'fragment' very clearly, but also another fainter streak/fragment much closer to the main bulk of S1. I am not going to label that one as a discovery, despite it being the same as 5121 (albeit fainter).

As always, please email me with questions, comments, complaints, concerns, etc.
