I have stopped here for the moment while I figure out what to do with
the Marsden and Kracht comets. At this point, I am hesitant to assign
"SOHO-xxxx" numbers to any new members of those groups unless they are
objects for which we can find no earlier match.

I suspect that the two Marsden comets are the returns of C/2004 V9 and 
V10, and SOHO-1882 and 1884. I also agree with Worachate that the 
Kracht-group comet is likely the return of C/2009 Y10 (and maybe 
C/2004 A3, but that's more speculative).

Anyway, I have submitted astrometry to the MPC and await their 
opinion. Based on what they say, I will then assign SOHO-#'s to the 
remaining comets in 2015.

Hi All,

Please look at the 2016 C3 transits page. You'll see Worachate has updated the
transits figure to show the path that C/2013 X1 will take across LASCO C3 in March.
Assuming the comet maintains its current brightness, it should be fairly well visible
for us. Please report it as a "known comet" if/when it arrives.

PS: Still working on finalizing December's comets, pending the outcome of the 
proposed Marsden/Kracht linkages I sent to the MPC. Assuming they're correct, it
would put you at 3,085 discoveries by the end of December 2015.

Hi All,

Via SOHO Ops Team:
"SOHO will be performing needed attitude station keep maneuvers Monday February 1
(DOY 32) 2016 between the hours of 10:00 - 14:20 UT on the DSN D65 morning pass.

A minimal amount of fuel will be needed for the maneuvers; only SWAN and LASCO 
instruments will need safing.  The LASCO observing plan will go idle at 10:00 UT and
doors will be closed. There will be no LASCO images during this period."
