Tomorrow (Aug 6) we will be moving the web server to a different network. If all
goes to plan, it should be just a matter of unplugging it and plugging it in 
somewhere else... but things don't always go to plan. Tomorrow, you should
expect our websites to be offline for at least a couple of hours. Hopefully there

You may have heard, but there was a new SOHO/SWAN discovery a couple
of days ago - C/2015 P3 (SWAN) [MPEC 2015-P25]. Comets discovered by
SWAN do, of course, receive a SOHO number, and this one is no exception. I'll
put it right after Michal's recent Meyer-group comet in the numbering. 

We're in the low 2990's... please continue to NOT find too many comets until I
return from Hawaii next week :)

Just a reminder about posting rules:

C2 Kreutz reports can be made with just two positions. ALL other reports - C2
and C3 - MUST have at least three positions on the first report. If you are not sure 
if you are reporting a Kreutz comet, use three positions.

We almost certainly won't see any new C2-Kreutz until later in September, so
right now, all reports should have three initial positions.

Following these rules significantly reduces the amount of noise on the report
page.

Hi All,

In case you hadn't realized, we're heading into the SOHO keyhole again, so data
will be sporadic for a couple of weeks. We don't actually lose any data, however,
until a few hours on September 4th (I think...) when they safe LASCO for the 
scheduled station keeping and momentum dumps.

Also, please feel free to resume finding comets. I'm ready now. Next week would
be pretty much perfect for SOHO-3000... :)

Hi All,

Just a reminder that we're getting close to the passage of 322P/SOHO through
the field of view. I don't know the exact dates but perihelion is just a few days 
away so it should turn up soon. Please make a "known comet" report for it when
you see it.

PS: PLEASE find some comets!! I really want to get past SOHO-3000 and focus
on other things :)
