Everyone:

There are TOO MANY reports appearing on this page. This is a very quiet time of 
year for SOHO comet discoveries, and there is just no need for this volume of
excessive reporting. It makes the page hard to read, and makes it very hard for
me to try and do confirmations. I have very limited funding to do this project and
the more time I spend trying to sort out reports means that I get to spend less
time on updating the website and doing outreach... both of which are very 
important factors in obtaining new funds for the Sungrazer project. 

So I will say this one more time: do NOT report an object unless you are 
CONVINCED that it is likely to be real. If you are not 100% sure, wait for a fourth
image before making a report.

These statistic show the total number of reports made during February for each
of the following years:
Feb 2004  -- 67 reports
Feb 2005  -- 188 reports
Feb 2006  -- 269 reports
Feb 2007  -- 296 reports
Feb 2008  -- 124 reports
Feb 2009  -- 113 reports
Feb 2010  -- 242 reports
Feb 2011  -- 458 reports !!!!!

If this quantity of reports continues to be made, I will have to change the rules
to make it a four or five position minimum for new reports. That would mean a
lot of joint-discovery comets, and I think that most of you would prefer to avoid
that. So PLEASE calm down and reconsider your reports before you make them.
