Just to clear up the confusion, there are two reported comets here:
First is Hua Su from Sep 04 2004 11:20:47.
Second is John Sachs from Sep 04 2004 21:04:51.
I have received retractions from those who have duplicated these claims.
Note: this isn't my "official" confirmation of these comets -- I haven't
looked at them myself yet, but I'm certain they are very real. Any
claims that don't refer to these comets will, of course, be checked.

No comets to confirm. September is clearly as 'dry' as it usually is.
It's a shame we didn't get one of the early-September Kracht II comets
in C2 this year. Oh well...
Anyway, just letting you all know that SOHO is rolling again on Tuesday
Sept 21st. LASCO safes on monday and reopens thursday.

I can, of course, confirm the comet found by Tsai Yuan-Sheng, posted
on Sep 22 2004 20:03:57. Congratulations on your first SOHO comet! This
is SOHO-838. Sadly, due to being right in the telemetry keyhole (see
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/hotshots/2004_01_04/ ), we got very few
images of the comet. I'm confident it would have been visible C2, but I
doubt we'll find out. I can get enough positions for astrometry though.
On a separate note, most of you know this, but some may not. On monday
we are expecting the arrival of a known comet in LASCO C3. It is comet
C/2003 K4 (LINEAR). It will (hopefully) be around 5.5mag. It will appear
from the left hand edge of C3 late monday (UT) Sep27 and head down
towards the lower-right part of C3, exiting late (UT) on October 12th.

While it is true that I will accept *initial* claims with only two
positions, I am unable to confirm a comet if there are less than four or
five positions. Since I can not confirm a claim with only two positions,
I will not bother to check a claim with only two positions. When you
post a claim with just two, I expect you to do one of two things:
1) Follow the claim up with two (preferably three) more positions using
the "Further to my post of..." option
