Hello all, here are the latest confirmations. Mike, you were

correct to confirm John's comet...I wasn't looking in the
correct location due to -100 pixel offset in the coordinates...
my apologies.

648 M. Boschat 03/08/02-03 C3

Also, I am sad to say that this is my last post to this
website. I will no longer be associated with NRL, NASA, or
anything LASCO-comet related as I am heading off to grad school
at Johns Hopkins Univ. I suggested a proper replacement earlier
this year but unfortunately it never materialized. As of this
moment there is no dedicated comet person but I have been assured
that LASCO personnel will periodically check this website for
reports (though they may not start for a few weeks). However,
the rate at which they check reports will be significantly less
frequent than the rate you experienced under Doug and myself.
In addition, I ask that you please have patience with whomever
monitors this page...they will have extensive knowledge of the
LASCO instruments but not necessarily with the properties of the
LASCO comets.

I wish everyone the best,

Derek

Also,I checked Mike's last post Aug 25 2003 13:24:55.

The object is very dim, from 11:42 to 16:18 is visible,
and lost 3 positions,perhaps it is a X-comet, I think.

XingMing
